Patricia L Hawk

Patricia L. Hawk , 98, died August 15, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio to Percy Ray and Ruth Isabelle (Galloway) Stout and lived in Akron for most of her adult life. She was a graduate of Miami University, and an active member of Christ United Methodist Church of Akron. She retired from the Akron Beacon Journal Credit Union where she was the office manager.

Pat graduated with a degree in art education. She played piano and a favorite memory is listening to her play Moonlight Sonata. During WWII her family was part of an article in Life Magazine, which included her picture. She received 100s of letters from service men including proposals of marriage. As a mother of four she was busy and did mountains of muddy laundry after Boy Scout camping trips. She was a sweet peacemaker who did her best to make people around her happy. Her quiet sense of humor often made us chuckle. Pat also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines and snow globes. In her retirement she was active on the Rockynol resident’s council and enjoyed creating and sending greeting cards, which often included a comic strip to make us laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald N. Hawk, her children, Kenneth and Margaret Hawk, and her brother Richard Paul Stout.

She is survived by her sons, David (Linda) and Andrew Sr. (Lee Anne);  grandchildren Deborah (Andrew) Johnson, Sarah (Joel) Shoop, Lisa (William) Alderfer, Adam (Tessa) Hawk, Jennifer Hawk, Lisa Osborn, Andrew (Melissa) Hawk, and Timothy (Hilary) Hawk; great grandchildren Emma and Wyatt Osborn; Jonathan and Zachary Shoop; Hailey, Austin and Deacon Alderfer; Mackenzie, Lexi, Levi, Keagan, Jonas, and Milo Hawk; and her brother, Don Stout.

Funeral service will take place SATURDAY, August 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery, Akron.
