Patricia Thornton

Patricia Grace Thornton, 89, died January 22, 2016.
The daughter of Darwin W. "Darby" and Grace M. Thornton, she was a lifelong resident of Akron where she attended King Elementary, Old Trail School and Briarcliff Junior College. Pat was a member of Church of Our Saviour and past member of its Vestry, the Junior League of Akron, past chair of the Louise Sumner Board of Sumner on Merriman, past president of the Women's Board of Akron City Hospital and was a past member of City's Board of Trustee. An avid golfer, she was a six-time woman's champion of Portage Country Club.
Pat is survived by nieces, Barbara Myers (Richard) of Marblehead, OH, Elizabeth Tudor (Richard) of Florissant, MO., Grace Zawicki of Akron and Jill Johnson of Peninsula, OH and lifelong friend Janie Grimwood.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with The Rev. Dr. Richard B. Tudor officiating. Friends may call one hour before service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Program at Arden Courts of Bath 171 N. Cleve-Mass Road Akron 44333 or your favorite charity.
