Patricia B. Zeigler

Patricia B. Zeigler, age 97 of Akron, OH, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2024. She was born July 9th, 1927 in Toronto, Canada to parents Robert and Mary Brown (nee Dolittle). She spent the first five years of her life in Wolverhampton, England.

She graduated from Buchtel High School, Stephens Junior College, and the University of Akron, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She married Willis S. “Bill” Zeigler in 1949 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. They had 62 great years together.

She was a member of the Junior League and was very involved in the community. She was a member of the Juvenile Court Board and United Way’s Women United , where she served as President and received the Jeter Award. She was also a member of the United Way Board of Trustees and received the Distinguished Service Award. She served as a docent at the Akron Art Museum for five years. She was a member of the Women’s Board of Akron Children’s Hospital, and served as President when William H. “Bill” Considine joined the hospital. She was also a member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Kiernan and Sally Tange; her devoted husband, Bill; and by her rescued Doberman, Faith. She is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela A. Sanders of The Woodlands, TX and Patricia A. Zeigler of Akron, OH; and also by cherished grandchildren, Stephen and Allison Sanders, of The Woodlands, TX

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the team of caregivers at Ohio Living Rockynol and Ohio Living Hospice for the kindness and respect showed to mom, and for the outstanding support provided to the family.

Friends may call from 12-1 P.M. FRIDAY October 25th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333. Funeral ceremony, with Rev. Jason Piland officiating, will begin at 1 P.M. Pat will be laid to rest at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
