Paul R. Houser, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, May 9, 2009.
A life long resident of the Akron and Bath area, Paul was a graduate of North High School and the University of Akron School of Engineering. He served in the United States Navy and Marines and was a member of Bath Church since 1962.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bunny Houser; and his children, David Nora Houser, Marla Larry Eckart, Mark Charlene Houser and Kevin Lisa Houser. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Marci, Katie, and Brad Bidinger, Christopher, Patrick and Rachel Eckart, Shelly Steve Cox, Jacob and Morgan Houser, and Kimberly, Kelly and Candice Houser. He also enjoyed one great-grandson, Landyn Cox.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Historic Chapel of Bath Church, United Church of Christ, 3980 W. Bath Rd., with Rev. Mark W. Frey officiating. Private inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Rd., Peninsula, 44264 as pets are a joyous part of one's life.
