Paul Herman Lenke, 94, from Akron, Ohio died peacefully on December 15th, 2012.
Paul was born January 12th, 1918 in Akron, Ohio to Albert and Theresa Lenke. Paul married the love of his life, Dorothy on December 19th, 1942. He was a retired Metalsmith with the B.F. Goodrich Company and proudly served for the United States Navy during World War II as an Apprentice Petty Officer, First Class in the Pacific Theatre.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Dorothy. He is survived by his sons, Greg (Judy) and Ron (Lisbeth); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Alvin (Jean) and Marie.
Paul's love of family, his positive attitude and excitement for life served as an example for all who knew him.
Services will be held 10 a.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Interment with Military Rites at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home WEDNESDAY from 4 to 8 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro St. #201, Hudson, OH 44236.
