Paul Leroy Swan

Paul L. Swan, 91, died August 24, 2009.
Dad lived all his life in the Akron area, graduating from Buchtel H.S. in 1936. He was owner and operator of Swan Hardware for over 50 years, retiring in 1980. He was an avid golfer and traveled extensively.
He was preceded in death by Gertrude, his wife of 67 years, and is survived by his daughters, Pamela Chris Toppin of Fairlawn and Linda Roth of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Eric Toppin, Kevin and Kiersten Toppin of Akron, Andrew Toppin of Michigan, Tammie and Chris Bottoni, Laurie and Leon Malone, Bryan Roth of Wisconsin and David Roth of Florida; and great-grandson, Ethan Toppin.
Dad will be missed by all for his hard work ethic, his keen mind and his sense of humor. He never knew a stranger.
There are no calling hours or services. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to Hospice of V.N.S., 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333.
