Paul Allen Walasek

Paul Walasek was born on May 15, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He grew up in Brooklyn, Ohio, spending time with his father and brother at the local airport, where he obtained his solo pilot’s license before he had his driver’s license. He was an enthusiastic classical music lover and collector, and an active member of his church.  He had a long career in information technology, through which he met his wife Deborah Yvette Lake while employed at AT&T. They were married in June of 1998. Paul passed away on February 5, 2022 after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deborah, and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Walasek and Denise Sils.  He was the son of the late Alfred P. and Evelyn E. Walasek, and the brother of the late James B. and Thomas P. Walasek.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, February 12 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church at 476 Mull Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church, officiated by Reverend Father John Valencheck, and will be streamed live at https://youtu.be/87ix0MjUNeQ as “Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Walasek”. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul through St. Sebastian Catholic Church, or to a charity of your choice.
