Paul Richard Williams

Reverend Paul Richard Williams, Dick, age 76 of Akron, passed away at home on June 15, 2015.

Dick was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 18, 1939 to Mary and Ernie Williams of Marion, Ohio. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1957, Capital University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1965 with a Master's in Divinity. Dick was ordained as a Lutheran minister by Reverend Martin Hollensen at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Marion Ohio on June 13, 1965. Dick served seven churches in Ohio in his 50 years of ministry: Good Shepherd, Vickery; Saint Andrew, Enon; Living Lord, Howland; Saint John, Akron; Saint John/Saint Paul, Akron; Saint Thomas, Cleveland; and Zion, Valley City. Dick also served as Assistant to the Bishop of the Ohio District, American Lutheran Church.

Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jil (nee Lossing); children, Paula (Matthew) of Columbus, Kevin (April) of St. Louis, and Mark (Ann Marie) of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Skye Marie, Clay, Carl, Ava, Isabella, Cooper, Brady and Kennedy; and sister-in-law, Donna Marie Jones (Wes) of Columbus.

Calling hours will be June 17, 2015 from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 W. Market Street Fairlawn, Ohio. The funeral will also be at Faith Lutheran Church on June 18, 2015 at 11 AM.
