Pete Pappas

Pete Pappas, 92, born in Tripolis, Greece on January 10, 1929 to the late Michael and Diamondo (Bitzanis) Papademetriou.  As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy, returning home to work with his brothers at Pappas Realty for more than 50 years.

Pete was preceded in death by brothers Steve and George; sisters Anna Pappas and Sophie Chomolou and son Steven.  He is survived by his wife Nancy; brother Gus (Mijo); sister Becky (John) Carvaines; daughter Patsy (George) Lowe and son Gregory Akers.

Pete was involved in numerous groups, serving as past president of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.  He was a member of Toastmasters, JOG (Jobs for Ohio Graduates), Kiwanis, the Chit Chat Club, past president of Akron Realtors Board, and served on the Salvation Army board.

A funeral service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St. Akron, Ohio 44304 at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 5, 2021 with visitation from 10-11 AM prior to the service.  Burial will be held at Mount Peace Cemetery.  Contributions can be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
