Philip F. Murray

Philip F. Murray, 88, died January 3, 2021 after battling Covid-19. Philip was born in Yonkers, New York on March 24, 1932 and grew up in Pelham, New York. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. At Purdue he met Karin and they were married August 7, 1954. He served 3 years as a Lieutenant in the US Navy aboard an LSD ship during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Firestone as an Engineer and traveled the world. He received his Masters of Mechanical Engineering Degree from Akron University. He had two daughters Lynne Herron (deceased) and Leslie Murray; son-in-law Keith Herron; grandsons Randal (Kate), Dylan and Jason Herron. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis and lived a good Christian life. A private service will be held at Billow Funeral Home.
