Phillip D. Hurte, 58, died suddenly June 4, 2014.
Born in Chicago, he lived most of his life in this area and was employed in sales at Cascade Auto Group. He loved to golf with Debbie, cook, night fish with Dave, and his pets, Izzy and Finny.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Dorothy Mae Hurte and nephew, Brent; he is survived by wife, Debra Strouse-Hurte; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Diani Hurte of Houston, TX; stepson, John Barber; grandsons, Dylan Hurte and Colton Barber; brothers, David and Dennis Hurte; sisters, Sheila Hayden and Sharon Robinson all of the Akron area; nieces and nephews, Erica, Sarah, Crystal, Anthony, Adam, Brian, Evan, and Wyatt; best friend, John Labbe and wife, Deb; Vivian Hurte, and many dear friends.
A memorial service with remarks by family and friends will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with calling hours 1 hour before.
