Phyllis E. Bean, 81, of Akron, Ohio, beloved daughter of the late Leonard C. and Marie H. Bean, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16 after a long illness.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on July 14, 1927. She had been living in the Willoughby, Ohio area for the past five years.

She is survived by her sister, Suzanne M. Harig of Willoughby and the following nephews and nieces: Gregory L. Harig partner James McPeak of Cleveland, Dale R. Harig wife Laura of Willoughby, Jeffrey L. Harig wife Melodye of Brookpark, Debby L. Fishman husband Dr. Harvey of Dunnellon, Florida, Terry L. Harig wife Geri of Seminole, Florida, Michael D. Harig wife the late Cindy of Eastlake, Phyllis M. Harig of Willoughby, Leslie A. Harig of Willoughby, Ohio, Carol Buza husband the late Jim of Stow, Ohio, Patricia Cristino husband Matt of Rittman, Ohio. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.

Ms. Bean was a 45-year employee of The B.F. Goodrich Company in Akron in the payroll department before retiring in 1992. She studied dance and ballet for many years and enjoyed performing, was an avid golfer in her thirties, traveled extensively, and devoted many years to the excellent care of her parents.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Daisy Bean, and her brother-in law, Robert L. Harig.

Per her request, services will be private. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Akron. Those who wish to make contributions in her name may do so to The Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Road, Peninsula, Ohio, 44262. Billow FALLS Chapel
