Phyllis Cortese Hickle
, beloved wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023. She was 96 years old. Born to John and Pearl Cortese, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, her daughters, Phyllis Biery and Nancy Edwards; her sisters, Mary and Sara and brothers, Joseph, John and Peter.
She leaves behind her daughters, Donna (Dennis) Skoda, Margaret (Greg) Hickle-Grimm; Grandson, John (Kate) Edwards, Granddaughters, Shannon (Tom) Quade, Emily (Jaime) Grimm, Rebecca (Andy) Grimm-Lautzenheiser as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Sophia Edwards and Alfred Lautzenheiser. Her nephew, Michael (Debbie) Popplewell, their two daughters, Carolyn (Brian) and Claire (Chris). Her nurturing spirit will forever reside in their hearts. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled but cherished memories will be held close by all who knew her.
In addition to her immediate family, Phyllis will be dearly missed by all of whom were touched by her grace and compassion. A special thank you to Gayanne, her friend and caregiver that for the last 6 years, who made sure she wanted for nothing.
Services will be held, FRIDAY, December 29, 2023 11:00 a.m. Fort Steuben Burial Estates Mausoleum Chapel, 801 Canton Rd. Wintersville, OH 43953. Interment immediately following.
