Phyllis Ann Linder, age 93, of Akron, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 12, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Linder who preceded her in death by just eight months. Phyllis and Robert enjoyed a fruitful marriage of 71 years, devoted to each other and their family. Together they raised their four children in Bath, Ohio where they were members of the Bath United Church of Christ. There, Phyllis participated in the Women's Guild, and Bible Study Group as well as being an original member of The Bath Volunteers, serving her local community. She was an avid golfer, an accomplished duplicate bridge player, and a lucky fisherman. Her other interests included cooking, reading, painting, and studying genealogy. Phyllis and Bob traveled the world as well as the United States via their motor home. Together, they spent nearly 15 years at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson, Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas Linder of Seattle, Washington; and her three daughters and sons in law, Mary and Edward Sogan of Hudson, Patricia and Mark Seal of Johns Creek, Georgia, and Sally and Jeffrey Rogers of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Grandchildren include Steven (Sarah) Sogan, Beth Sogan (John) Ginther, David (Kaoru) Linder, Jeffrey Seal, Michael Seal, Dr. Kathryn Seal, Sarah Rogers (Jeffrey) Nassof, Thomas (Melissa) Rogers, and Scott Rogers. Great grandchildren are Avery and Mary P. Sogan and Tyler and Gavin Ginther. Also surviving her death is her sister, Betty Wetterau and sister-in-law, Jean Linder, who both reside at Laurel Lake.
