Phyllis Spindler passed away February 20, 2016 at age 87.
Phyllis was born in Akron, Ohio on November 18, 1928, the daughter of Dr. Alva and Mrs. Ethel Spindler. She attended Buchtel High School and graduated from Flora Stone Mather College of Western Reserve University with a BA degree. She then worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. (AT&T) for 32 years as service representative, supervisor, and manager of a phone store. Upon retiring, she volunteered for years at Akron General Medical Center, Mobile Meals, Cancer Society, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, Telephone Pioneers, and Food Cupboard at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for over 65 years. She also loved to travel and visited many countries around the world.
Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Frank and Robert; she is survived by God children, Tami Akers (Roy) of Riner, VA, James D. Tynan (Tina) of Montgomery, AL, Tina Tynan Klinge (Mark) of Dublin, OH , Beth Bell (Ricci) of Radford, VA, and Rebecca Holcomb of Akron. Also surviving is longtime friend, James F. Tynan (Sandy) of Radford, VA and all the children of the God children, Dani, Jacob, Jordan, Lindsey, Lexy, and Asa.
