R Todd Burns

R. Todd Burns, 48, died Oct. 13, 2009.

Born in Albany, N.Y., he moved to Copley in 1966 and lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1984. A graduate of Copley High School and the College of Wooster, he was employed for 18 years with Fuji Film. His life centered around family and church. He was a vital member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry, ran the sound system and volunteered in many capacities. He was an inspiration to his family and friends. He was kind, compassionate and encouraged others. He enjoyed visiting his dear friend, Kerry Miller while skiing with family in Utah as well as golf with his Tuesday group.

Todd is survived by wife, Jan; daughters, Carrie Cody Burns Grimm, Karlie and Devin Burns; father, Dr. Robert Sonda and her daughter, Lauren Burns; mother, Peggy Burns; brothers, Troy Lea and their daughters, Peyton and Casey, and Clark and his children Calvin and Caroline; parents-in-law, Ruthie John, deceased Turley; brother-in-law, John Janet Turley and their children, A.J. and Sarah; sisters-in-law, Elaine Turley and her sons, Erik, Brad, Jordan Shoger, Jodi Doug Turley Foulds and their children, Kelsey and Andy; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. A reception will be held following the service. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 245 Locust St., Akron 44302.
