Ralph Eugene Bowman, 92, died August 8, 2011.
Born in Accident, Maryland, July 5, 1919 to Joseph and Anna Beckett Bowman, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Akron and life member of the Akron Men's Garden Club, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Wadsworth Lodge #385 F&AM, the Shrine, Grotto and O.E.S. Chapter 102. He and Betty were charter members of the antique/collectables Ohio Bottle Club and belonged to Coventry Chapter #3820 A.A.R.P. Ralph was a carpenter, Local #639, having retired in 1981.
Preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd, Owen, Lester, Clayton and Lawrence and sister, Mary Logsdon, he is survived by his loving wife, Betty nee Sprow Bowman, sister, Gladys Trent and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Becki Bowan-Verbridge officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military rites by V.F.W. Post 7971. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY from 4 to 7 p.m. Billow FAIRLAWN
