Ralph R. Derks, 82, passed away on September 22, 2009.
He will be remembered for his kind, loving spirit and his willingness to always help others. The most important things in his life were his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Ruth. He has four children, Faye E. East, Dennis Hatsuko, Gayle Butch Haught and Michael Jenny. He was a wonderful grandfather to nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He has two sisters, Gloria Dodie Cline and Jane Hernea, many nieces, nephews and friends.
You will be greatly missed and have a special place in our hearts forever. Our family would like to give a special thank you to all the Summa Hospice Staff who took such great care of him and Tracy who could always make him smile.
Services will be held 10 a.m. FRIDAY at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 735 N. Revere Rd., Akron, with Bishop Paul Stark officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. TODAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Summa, P.O. Box 2090, Akron 44398.
