Ralph Edward Dodge

Ralph Dodge, 80, went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2013.

Born November 9, 1933 in Akron, Ohio, he graduated from North High School, served in the U.S. Navy in 1956 and 1957, and followed with service in the Naval Reserves. Later in life, he attended the University of Akron working toward his Music Degree. Ralph worked for 38 years for Ohio Bell, Ameritech and AT&T.

Ralph's life was centered in faith, family and music. For forty years he directed choirs: North Hill Christian, Grandview United Methodist, Northminster Presbyterian, Bailey Road Christian, Cuyahoga Falls Community Chorus and Women Rejoice. He helped found the free meal program, Feed My Sheep, on North Hill in Akron.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Anna; brothers, Richard, Albert and Bruce; sisters, Helen and Dorothy; he is survived by his wife, Margaret, sons, Ed, Thomas, James and Kenneth; grandsons, Jayson, Brandon, Joseph and Lucas; nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital for the grace, compassion and loving care shown to Ralph and his family and would request the contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to them.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. SUNDAY, 12/1, at Bailey Road Christian Church, 3200 Bailey Road, with Rev. Timothy Brown and Rev. Roger Mize officiating.
