Saikong Raman
Saikong Raman, 43 passed away August 1, 2008 at Akron City Hospital.

Born in Mon State, Burma, he was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Kuwait. He attended the University of Akron as a political science major and was a member of the National Society of Scholars. Employed at Rubbermaid, he was co founder and former chairman of Monland Restoration Council from 1993 to 1996 and served two terms as chairman of the Akron Mon Community from 2004 to 2007. Raman was a well respected and honorable man in the Mon communities.

He is survived by wife, Aye Aye Thein; and daughter, Kao Htaw Raman.

Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday with cremation services to follow.
