Ramon (Ray) Joseph Boshara

Ramon (Ray) Joseph Boshara passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022. He was 90.

“Ray,” “Dad” or “Jido” was a 1949 graduate of Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio, where he spent most of his life. He also enjoyed living in Ft. Lauderdale and Las Vegas. Proud of his Lebanese heritage, Ray traveled to Lebanon and many other places worldwide. He was an avid golfer who also made custom clubs for family and friends. As the owner of Fa-Ray’s Family Restaurant in Barberton for several decades, Ray was a successful businessman as well.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Liz, who passed away in 2019. He is survived by his sons RJ Boshara (Lora Iannotti) and David Boshara; daughters Dana Gauer (Jeff), Melissa Ann Hoover (Keith), and Michelle Boshara; and ten grandchildren: Emily and Zachary Meyerson; Leila and Lauren Aceto; Nicholas and Gabrielle Boshara; Arianna, Isabella and Elias Boshara; and Dustin Boshara.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 26 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Church in Fairlawn, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s name to Our Lady of the Cedars (www.ourladyofthecedarschurch.org) or to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
