Raymond S. Abe Crosier, 97, passed away Jan. 25, 2010.
Born in Montrose, Ohio, he lived his whole life in the Copley-Fairlawn area. Raymond graduated from Copley High School and later served on the Copley Board of Education. In 2008 he was inducted into the Copley High School Sports Hall-of-Fame. Raymond was very active in the Montrose-Zion U.M. Church, holding many offices over the years. He retired from the Frito-Lay Co. in 1972. One of Raymond's favorite past-times was playing golf.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Brittie May Crosier; brother, Harley; and sister, Bessie Icenhower. He leaves behind, his wife of 72 years, Helen Frase; son, Ted Lynn; daughter, Judy Nile Walter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glendon Roach, Delores Frase, and Betty and Robert Simo; grandchildren, Julie Rob Price, Beth Whitney Baker, David Walter, Matt Kristi Crosier, Chris Tom Carleton, Kim Darrin McAninch; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Riley, Mackenzie, Alex, Jordan, Madalyn, Collin, and Lauren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Montrose-Zion U.M. Church, with funeral services following at 11 a.m., Rev. Michael Teston and Rev. Dr. Walter Chisholm will officiate. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montrose-Zion U.M. Church, 565 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Akron 44333.
