Raymond "Cowboy" Martin

Raymond E. Martin, 82, passed away June 10, 2014.

Born in Akron, February 10, 1932 to Halcyon Price and Samuel Martin, he was an Akron resident all of his life and veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ray had volunteered with 4H where he taught, showed and judged Western Horse Riding, and had handed out sample smoothies for his son at Fresh Healthy Café in Summit Mall. He retired from Lambert Buick and Blind and Sons.

Preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Nicole; he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally Martin; sister, Karen (Harold, Sr.) Hosterman; children, Chris (Jen) Martin, Mary Martin, Steve Martin, Chris (William) Englehart and Diane Martin; grandchildren, Cody, Chase, Alisia, David, Danielle and Dominic.

Services will be held 2:30 p.m. SATURDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Pastor Don Rohrbacher officiating. Entombment with military honors provided by Copley Veterans Post and the U.S. Navy at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.
