Raymond Frank Sain, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, went Home to the Lord after a brief illness on May 2, 2012.
Born in 1928 in Cleveland, he was a graduate of Garfield High School (Akron), and attended The University of Akron. He was a highly skilled craftsman and machinist. He worked 25 years at NRM Corporation (Akron), and later retired from Glass Equipment Development (Twinsburg) after 10 years of service. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his sons, David and Christian; his parents, Golden and Elizabeth Sain; and brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Marilyn, the one and only love of his life. His surviving children are Lisa (Robert) Shoman, Gregory Sain, Julie (Garland) Stout, Jeffrey (Maria) Sain, and Douglas (Kimberly) Sain. He is survived also by grandchildren, Brian (Stephanie) Shoman, Kimberly (Ryan) Sherrer, Victoria Sain, Elizabeth Sain, Zachary Sain, and Tyler Sain; and great-grand-children, Cooper Shoman and Nicholas Sherrer. He is also survived by brother, Sherrick (Katy) Sain.
The family would like to thank the doctors, RNs and staff at the Intensive Care Unit (Summa Health System - Akron City Hospital) who treated our father with respect and dignity.
Mass of Christian Burial shall be Saturday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours shall take place on Friday, May 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to assist the poor through the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, OH 44320.
