Richard M. Bucy
Like two other American Patriots, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams; Richard McKinley Bucy died on July 4th, Independence Day.
Dick Bucy was born on May 24, 1926 and lived on Silver Street in Akron until he left for duty in World War II. His teenage girlfriend Betty was literally the girl across the street. When he returned from his service in Germany they were married and eventually settled in Cuyahoga Falls. Betty and Dick were married for 63 years before she died in 2010.
Dick was very proud of his service in the 12th Armored Division and was an active member of the veterans group.
Dick started working at Baumgardner Funeral Vault Company before he went into the service. They hired him back upon his return and he retired from Baumgardner Products.
There will be an informal graveside service on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10 AM at Rose Hill Burial Park. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
