Richard Hanna, 69 years of age, passed on Wednesday November 16, at Akron City Hospital after fighting a long battle of debilities.
Rick was born January 30, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to the late George and Alice Hanna. He was the youngest of three children, survived by sister, Sandy Abookire and preceded in death by brother, Ray Hanna.
Rick graduated from Buchtel High School and Ohio University. He was an entrepreneur that dabbled in many businesses. His favorite success was The Pelican Cove Bar and Restaurant. He was a legend of Portage Lakes.
In 1986, he married the beautiful Joy Hanna and they created a family with three amazing children, Jensen, Tory and Tim. He was a supportive and loving father that will be missed immensely. He had two adorable grandsons, Jackson and Bennett, who will also miss their "Papa."
Rick was a gambling man that loved to travel and play golf. He had many great and supportive friends. His snarky comments made everyone laugh. He was our rock. We will miss his smile. He is now at peace with many family and friends, in Heaven. Until we see you again... we love you with all of our hearts, Dad.
