Richard H. Haskins departed this world peacefully at his home on Christmas morning. Born in Akron, OH to Mabel and Clarence Haskins on August 8, 1924. He is preceded in death by his parents, surrogate father Uncle Birch, sister Patricia, and brother Birch. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Ruth, son Michael, daughter Diane, granddaughters Dawn and Jennie, and great-grandson Jackson.
Dick was a WWII Veteran serving his country in the Navy. After the war, he joined the workforce and through his ingenuity and hard work built up his businesses in the automotive plastics industry in Michigan. He loved building, working, his doggies, hunting, fishing, boats, friends and family. He will be joining so many life-long friends who have preceded him and will be sorely missed by so many more.
His was a life well-lived, enhanced by his extraordinary love of family and friends, incredible generosity, a fabulous sense of humor and a wonderful heart.
Funeral services will be at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, Ohio on Monday, December 30, 2019. at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice .
