Richard L. Housley, Jr. Richard L. Housley, Jr., 74, died October 3, 2011, Preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Housley, Sr., he is survived by his step-mother, Blanche Housley; daughters, Sheri L. Housley and Natalie Greg Montgomery; grandchildren, Jeremy and Tyler Montgomery; brother, Gary Jenny Housley of Franklin, Tennessee; and sister, Susan Valley of Sebastian, Florida. Born November 10, 1936, Rich grew up in Silver Lake and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1956. After serving in the Army's First Armor Division 1957 to 1959, Rich joined Bender & Loudon Trucking and worked his way up to Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and retired in 1989. Fleet vehicles maintenance operations were Rich's specialty and his attention to detail provided for the excellent safety record of Bender & Loudon Trucking. Rich joined the Bath Fire Department in 1969 and was very active in the department running an enormous amount of emergency calls and was timelessly dedicated to the fire service. He was awarded Firefighter of the Year in 1985 and retired in May 1995 after twenty five years of service. A graveside service with military rites by Copley VFW Post 7971 will be held 1 p.m. TUESDAY at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Rod Palmer officiating.
