Richard E. Justik, 82, passed away at his home in Sarasota, Florida December 16, 2016.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Andrea Wanna and her husband, Sam of Medina, Ohio; his sons, Michael and his wife, Korrin of Erie, Pennsylvania, Victor and his wife, Peggy of Hinckley; ten grandchildren, Maximus of Medina, Ohio, Zavier, Sebastian, Liam, Arianna and Mira of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Sarah, Christopher, Jacob and Daniel of Hinckley, OH; nephew, Robert; niece, Laurie; and mother of his children, Joanne. Richard was preceded in death by his dear sister, Lilian and her husband, Leon.
Richard was born in 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Helen Juszczyk. After leaving his boyhood home in Hamlet, Indiana, he served in the United States Navy as an aviator for five years in the Pacific followed by service in the US Naval Reserve. Richard graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor's degree in business and received a Master of Business Administration degree from Kent State University. In 1971 Richard founded United Security Management in Cleveland, Ohio and served as President until his retirement in 2011. Richard was heavily involved in law enforcement and industrial security and was a member of the American Society for Industrial Security.
Richard was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be best remembered for his steadfast leadership coupled with a jovial and loving disposition. His sense of humor was extended to all who knew him. Richard was dedicated to his Catholic faith and was an ardent believer in Catholic education. He enjoyed working outdoors, spending long hours on the tractor or planting trees and flowers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 9:30 a.m. FRIDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richard E.
