Richard " Dick" Phillips

Richard "Dick" Phillips, 68 years old, of Akron passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 5, 2015.

Born November 24, 1946 in Akron to Jack and Mary (nee Harris) Phillips, he graduated in 1964 from Buchtel High School. Dick was employed with the Akron Board of Education for 39 years, retiring in 2006, and was currently employed part-time cleaning for Risk International. Dick enjoyed working on cars. He raced and worked on stock cars at Barberton Speedway for many years. He loved and cherished family and friends, especially Mike Scanlon and Bill Katzenmeyer.

Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jordon Webster; he is survived by his loving wife, Ronna (nee Ruder); his son, Richard (Wendy) Phillips, Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls; his step-children, Douglas (Barbara) Webster of Ocala, FL, Tracy (Don) Kelling of Lodi, Lisa (Edward) Trudell of Clermont, FL; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., FRIDAY from 5 to 7:30 p.m. where Rev. Ron Isom will conduct a Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ronna Phillips or One of a Kind Pet Rescue. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
