Richard Corbin Stoner, 88, died April 25, 2011.
Born in Akron, he was a life resident. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, Richard was a graduate of The University of Akron, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1985 with thirty-six years service.
Preceded in death by his sister, Wanda J. Wells, he is survived by his wife, Adella Abbie Cotton Stoner; son, Stephen R. Georgeanna Stoner of Munroe Falls; daughters, Sharon R. David Axelson of Coronado, Calif., and Mary Lynn Zahn of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Andrew, Kristen, Joseph Lindy, Michael and Mike; great-grandchildren, Kylea and Kalynn.
Richard's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Senior Independence Hospice.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Leonard H. Budd officiating. Inurnment with military honors by American Legion Post 281at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
