Rita Sheehan, 78, died Nov. 6, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cleveland, Rita grew up in Akron and attended Garfield High School. A graduate of Akron City Hospital Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing, Rita was a registered nurse. She raised her family in Hudson and moved to Sandusky eight years ago to be near her daughter. Rita loved her family and traveling.
Preceded in death by husband, Michael and brothers, Dick and Bob Hagmeyer, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen Sheehan, M.D. and Brian Cockrell; sons, Patrick Denise, Chris Jennifer, and Matt Jo Anne; grandchildren, Katie Sheehan, Brennan and Kaelin Cockrell and Caryn VanderMeer; twin sister, Ruth Berus and sisters, Mary Basford and Judy Barcy.
Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Ronald E. Duer officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour before service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Commons of Providence, Specialty Unit, 5000 Providence Dr., Sandusky, OH 44870. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
