Mr. Bender was a graduate of Western Reserve Academy, Wesleyan University, Conn., and completed Business courses at Northwestern University and Harvard. He was CEO of Bender-Loudon Motor Freight. Bob served on the Board of Governors of the Regular Common Carriers Conference, on the National Board of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics, and was past president of the Cleveland Traffic Club. He was a member of the Guilde of American Transportation Specialists (G.O.A.T.S.). Bob was a contributing member of YPO/WPO Cleveland for 36 years and of the Mayflower Club; and served on the Board of the W.R.A. for 16 years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6 at 4 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313.
