Robert Edward Condon

Robert "Bob" Edward Condon, 86, died September 19, 2013.

Born in Oklahoma City, OK, he lived most of his life in the Akron and Hudson areas. A Navy veteran of WWII, he graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1952. Bob retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. after 38 years of service. During his career, he worked on several global projects including Banff-Canada, Thailand, Wrexham-Wales, Nairobi-Kenya, and Sao Paulo-Brazil. He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, Toastmasters, IEEE, Akron Ski Club, Rotary Club, and active in Boy Scout Troop 320.

Preceded in death by parents, and twin brother William J.; he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty (Stanson) Condon; son, Doug (Jo Ellen) Condon; nieces, Pamela (Dan) Fretz, Cheryl (Phil) Nelson, and Cindy (Jesse) Payne; great niece, Gen; great nephew, Spyke.

Service to be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora Street, Hudson with The Rev. Larry C. Minter officiating. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
