Robert W. Fickes

Robert Ward Fickes of Bath Township passed away on February 26, 2022 with his wife by his side.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 4, 1942 to the late Robert and Nancy Fickes. Bob had a love and dedication for the Bath Community and the Revere School District, both stepping stones throughout his life. It was at Revere where he met the love of his life Susan.  He graduated from Revere in 1960, and later following his love of sports, was an assistant football coach at Revere alongside his friends Joe Pappano and Fred Ost in the late 60’s. He was a co-founder of the Revere Youth Football program in 1975, a program that continues to this day. Bob was also a volunteer fireman with the Bath Fire Department for 25 years. He and his family have many life long friends from those days, along with lots of wonderful memories. Bob retired from Boehringer Ingelheim as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He loved his Collie dogs, the ocean, trains, fishing, boating, Ohio State football, Cleveland Indians, mower stripes in his yard and a raked gravel driveway.

Bob leaves behind his wife, of almost 56 years, Susan; his children, Bob, Jennifer (John) Luther, and Eric (Summer); his grandchildren Logan, Layla and Laine Luther, McKenna and Cole Fickes; and his brothers Dick of Pennsylvania and Jim (Debra) of North Carolina.

You will be forever loved, Dad.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Michael Angelo’s Winery 5515 Broadview Rd. Richfield, Ohio 44286. Service for Bob will begin at 1:30 PM, with time to visit and share with the family continuing till 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be sent to: Bath Fire Department 3864 W Bath Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333 or NE Ohio Collie Rescue 3316 Treelawn Dr. Richfield, Ohio 44286.
