Attorney Robert W. Higham, 77, of Bath passed away January 13, 2018. He was born in Rochester, NY on January 15, 1940.

Bob graduated from Kent State University and the University of Akron School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in 1969. Bob worked for Nationwide Insurance as an adjuster, Summit County Juvenile Court as a referee and retired as professor emeritus from the University of Akron, Criminal Justice program where he also started their paralegal program. While he enjoyed teaching, his first love was his private law practice.
Bob loved being with his family enjoying vacations, sporting events and having them over to the house or out for dinner. He loved playing baseball, fast pitch softball and basketball. He was a regular at the YMCA for handball games.
Bob was a member of Christ Woodland United Methodist Church and the Akron Bar Association.
Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katharine (Swank); daughter, Laurie Heidman; sons, Bob (Christine) Higham, and Tim Higham; grandchildren, Brittany and C.J. Heidman, Bobby and Katie Higham. He is also survived by sisters, Gladie (Ray) Gilmartin, Susan Golembeski; brother-in-law, Chuck (Davileen) Swank; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine (Carleton) Boyd.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 20th at 11 a.m. at Christ Woodland United Methodist Church, 444 N. Hawkins Avenue, Akron. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Family and friends will be received Friday, January 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH 44333 and on Saturday, January 20th one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Woodland or any charity of your choice in Bob's name. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
