Robert A. MacClellan passed away suddenly on Monday April 26th at age 79. Bob “Mac” Was Born in 1941 in Akron Ohio and lived in Silver Lake and Cuyahoga Falls his whole life. A graduate of Falls High, he received his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green University. Studying Music and Business, he dedicated his life to his family and the love of Music. He also actively served his country as a Medic in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Free Masons. Known as “Mac or Max” by all the musicians he met and helped over the years he was loved by all. His passion was helping others and spreading the love of music in his community. He ran the Akron Music Centers for over 40 years and in his later years founded AMAX Music. A gifted musician he could play a tune at the drop of a hat. He was a master of the trumpet, could play piano and just about any other instrument you could name. Growing up he loved the water, boats, living by a lake, swimming, and fishing. He shared his passion for living and having fun with his children and grandchildren. He loved taking fishing trips, going to amusement parks and the racetrack. He loved sports cars. He was known around town for his “Purple Dune Buggy” that he tooled around in on the weekend with his kids. Beloved son of Allen and Ruth MacClellan, loved by his sisters Joyce MacClellan and Joanne Brown, he is survived by his daughters and sons John and Julie Anne Ross, Michael and Jacqueline M. Szemplak, Janelle Heiser, Allen R. MacClellan, Grandchildren Haley A. Szemplak, James M. Szemplak, Anna Heiser, Aiden MacClellan, Piper MacClellan, and neices and nephews Raymond Hill, Jim and Dawna Wenck, and Deanna Brown. He will be missed by all. Friends and family will be welcome to calling hours on Monday May 3rd from 10 am -12 pm at Billows Funeral Home 1907 23rd street Cuyahoga Falls Ohio 44223. Funeral service will follow immediately after, at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Chestnut Hills Memorial Park.
