Robert G. Bob Manning
Robert Bob G. Manning, 86, of Orange City, Fla., passed away June 30 at the Halifax Health Hospice of the West Volusia Care Center in Orange City following a recent illness.
Bob was a wonderful son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was born November 15, 1922 to William and Pansie Manning. He graduated from North High School and worked in tire production for Goodyear for 43 years. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed bowling and golf and was an excellent dancer and roller skater in his youth. He was greatly admired for his good nature, always having a ready smile for everyone.
Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Arlene Jolly Manning to whom he was married for 52 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eva Emerson and brother, William Manning. He is survived by son, Terry Lynn Manning of Orange City, Fla.; daughter, Jill Wendell Horn of North Canton; and four grandchildren, Laurie Horn of North Canton, Mark Horn and Holly Dylan Atkinson of Canton, and Christopher Sabine Horn of Goettingen, Germany. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
A memorial graveside service will be held TODAY at 11 a.m. at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron with Chaplain Terry L. Livengood officiating.
