Robert D. Mathews, Ii

Robert D. Mathews II , age 73, a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away unexpectedly on April 5th.

He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls in 1967, attended The University of Akron and was a graduate of Malone University. Bob held numerous positions in security, financial lending with ITT and spent years serving individuals with disabilities in local Summit and Stark counties and at the state and national levels. He retired as the Services Support Manager at the Tuscarawas County Board of DD. He also spent many hours volunteering on their behalf, including his son. As an advocate, Bob also lived in Columbus and currently resided in Massillon.

He loved his family and friends and was preceded in death by numerous relatives including his parents, Robert and Dorothy; his son Ryan; and many relatives, primarily from WV.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; his daughter Melanie Zaidman; grandsons Daniel and Benjamin Zaidman, whom he adored; as well as his brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Jill Mathews; and stepdaughters Leanne and Amy Recchio.

Funeral service will be at 1 PM on Wednesday April 12, 2023 at the Billow Funeral Home 1907 23rd St. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. Family and friends may visit from 5-8 PM on Tuesday April 11, 2023 and Wednesday from 12-1 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
