Robert Stanley Moore, Esquire, 83, of Akron passed away at home on August 4, 2013.
He was born on January 20, 1930 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1948 and Kent State University in 1955. In 1961, Robert graduated from the University of Akron College of Law. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954 and earned a good conduct medal.
Robert enjoyed a long and diverse legal career. As a young lawyer he served as Law Director and then Chief Prosecutor in Cuyahoga Falls. Later he was appointed Magistrate in Summit County Juvenile Court and became the first Night Juvenile Traffic Court Magistrate in 1995. From 1965 until his retirement he also served his clients in private practice.
Robert was a co-founder and long time board member of both Chapel Hill Christian School and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. In 1996, he was the recipient of the CHCS Pearl Award for his significant contribution to the Chapel Hill Christian School legacy.
He was a faithful member of Chapel Hill Christian Church. In 1980, he was among a group of members commissioned to found a new church, Fairlawn Alliance, which is now CrossPoint Alliance Church.
Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; daughters, Lisa (Dominic) Pastore, Andrea (Alan) Brown, and Kristin (James) Krick; grandchildren, Jacqueline and Giulia Pastore, Chip (Jessica) and Christopher Bartels, Emily, Aaron and Robert Krick; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Kinsley Bartels.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, August 8, 2013 at CrossPoint Alliance Church, 855 Rothrock Rd., Akron, Ohio 44321. Friends are invited to call from 10 am until the service begins. Private interment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chapel Hill Christian School, 1090 Howe Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 or Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, 4687 Wyoga Lake Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44224.
