Robert E. Myers

Robert E. Myers, Jr., 98, died March 29, 2018.

Born in Akron, Ohio in 1919 to Robert E. and Viola M. Reemsnyder Myers, he was a World War II veteran who served with Company C, 395th Infantry Regiment attached to the First Army in the Battle of the Bulge and Rhineland Campaigns. He was a member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517 F&AM and the New Covenant Community Church. He retired from the accounts payable department at Ohio Edison where he worked for over 30 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, 41 years ago on the very same date; sister, Frances Billings and niece, Patty Billings. He is survived by his children, Molly (David) Bralley, Mark (Margaret) Myers, Margaret (Kenneth) Blanks; grandchildren, Margaret (Michael) Coyne, Emily Blanks, Mark (Morgan) Myers, Annemarie Blanks, Bridge Myers and Travis Bralley and great-grandchildren, Patrick Coyne and Elizabeth Myers.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation of the caring staff at Rockynol and Maplewood of Cuyahoga Falls along with the care providers at Harbor Light and Ohio Living Hospice.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. with Rev. Tom Ulrich officiating at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4-7pm with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. and one hour before services Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daughters of Devine Charity in care of Leonora Hall, 39 N. Portage Path, Akron 44303.
