Robert E. Nellis, 91, died August 21, 2016 in Sun City Center, Florida.
Born in Albany, NY, February 15, 1925 to Edward and Gertrude Link Nellis, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A member of The Bath Church, U.C.C., where he served on many committees, he owned and flew a Beechcraft Bonanza. An electrical engineer, he retired in 1989 from Lockhheed Martin, formerly Goodyear Aerospace.
Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joyce Nellis and sister, Marjorie Wholley; he is survived by his wife, Barbara Nellis; children, Cheryl Nellis, Jack Nellis (Rocchina), Lorelei Harding, Kathryn Field (Charles), Robert Nellis (Cecilia); step-children, Bonnie Church, Becky Racano and Brooks Waltenbaugh (Pamela); sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. MONDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Mark W. Frey officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home SUNDAY from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bath Church, U.C.C., 3980 W. Bath Rd., Akron, OH 44333. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
