Robert C. Perkins, Sr., passed away July 6, 2017. He was 108.

Bob was born on 12 February 1909 in Lafayette, Indiana to Clara Dunihue Perkins and William F. Perkins. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering (1931) and master's degree from University of Illinois (1934). He met and married his devoted wife of 61 years, "Emma" Marguerite G. Perkins also from Lafayette, Indiana.

Among his many endeavors, he worked in Lone Star Defense in Texarkana, Texas during WW II and BF Goodrich in Industrial Hose Division in Akron, OH until he retired. He was a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls (1947), Kent, OH (1962) and finally to Ohio Living Rockynol in Akron (2001). He was a Master Mason, an active golfer, bowler, accomplished bridge player and enjoyed his family & many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife (1999); older son, Robert C. Perkins, Jr. (2013); brother, William Sr. (2000); and mother, Clara (1970). He is survived by his younger son, James (Ellen) of Simpsonville, SC; daughter-in-law, Kay Perkins of Green Valley, AZ; niece and nephew, Nancy Smith of Akron ,OH and William Jr. of Cupertino, CA; granddaughter, Mary Perkins of Columbus, OH, and her mother, Elizabeth Perkins of Frankfurt, KY; grandsons, Jon D. (Michelle) of Ankeny, Iowa, C. Michael (Tara) of San Carlos, California; and great grandchildren, Jon Jr., Colin and Avery.

There are no local services. He will be inurned next to his wife in Spring Vale Cemetery in Lafayette, IN. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
