Robert Glenn Ritchie

Robert Glenn "Bob" Ritchie, 88, of Copley, passed away on February 16, 2022, following complications from a stroke. Bob was born March 10, 1933, in Taylorsville, North Carolina to the late Ernest Glenn Ritchie and Vivian Woodard Ritchie. He moved to Akron, Ohio in 1943. He was retired from Babcock & Wilcox where he was a project manager and The University of Akron where he was an academic advisor.

Bob was a member of Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ, the Friday Mt. Z Men's Breakfast Group, the Medina Community Recreation Center's Walking Club and Euchre bunch, the Association of University of Akron Retirees, Copley Seniors group, and a lifetime member of the Ohio Country Western Music Association. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of the family home and six acres, euchre with friends and Friday nights at the Music Barn in Sharon Township.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Brian Ritchie of Glendale, Arizona and sister, Jo Ellen Wenger of Eugene, Oregon. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Georgia; sons, Edward Glenn (Janpen) Ritchie of Katy, Texas, Scott Robert Ritchie of Cuyahoga Falls and Matthew Alan Ritchie of the home; Granddaughter, Bailey Ritchie of Austin, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM followed by the memorial service with Pastor Keith Hejnal officiating at 11:00 AM, at Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ, 2172 S. Medina Line Road, Wadsworth, OH 44281. Burial will be at the Mt. Zwingli UCC cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ.
