Robert L. Sandberg passed away on September 10, 2008 after a long illness.
Mr. Sandberg was born in Akron on December 27, 1919 and was a lifetime resident. He was a member of the Rotary Club; was a captain in the Army during World War II; and was the owner of Waldorf Ice Cream.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis nee Baldwin; daughters, Susan Dwyer Gene of Naples, Florida, Trina Dannecker Steve of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, and Teri Kilarski David of Hudson, Ohio; and grandchildren, Kevin, David, and Kate Dwyer, Michael, Peter, and James Dannecker, and Devin and Amy Kilarski.
There will be no memorial service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of V.N.S., 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
