Robert L Shell

Robert L. Shell left this life on June 30, 2024 at Akron General Hospital.

He was born 80 years ago to Ruth and Sherman Shell in Montclair, NJ, who preceded him in death.

A resident of Akron since the mid 1960’s after being hired by Goodyear in the research and development department.  He graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering and received his master’s degree from the University of Akron.  He retired from Goodyear in the year 2000.  Robert enjoyed photography, minerals and fossils, and was an active member at Unity Chapel of Light.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Hill Shell and his sister Candy Wambolt.

He is survived by his partner of 26 years, Marty Cashell; his daughter, Amanda Honzo; his grandsons, Aiden and Ethan; his son-in-law, Stephen Honzo; and his brother, Jeffrey Shell.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Chapel of Light, 503 Northwest Ave, Tallmadge OH 44278.  A reception will follow in the Friendship Hall at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unity Chapel of Light Compassion Fund, in care of the chapel’s address.
