Robert R Tryon

Robert R. “Bob” Tryon, 90, of Cuyahoga Falls, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.  He was born in Akron on May 27, 1930, the only child, to the late Ralph C. and Ruth M. (Shaw) Tryon.  After graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School, Bob went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the mid 1950’s. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he began working at B.F. Goodrich where he retired from in 1994 as a system analyst.

While at BF Goodrich, Bob also worked part time at Acme #10 on State Rd. for many years.  He lived in Cuyahoga Falls all of his life, except for when he was in the Army and brief stays overseas with his parents when his father, working as an electrical engineer for Firestone, was sent to start up new plants.

Bob enjoyed working the audio/visual at the High Street Christian Church where he was a long time member.  He also enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and traveling and was a frequent blood donor to the Red Cross.  He had a dry sense humor and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D. (Dailey) Tryon whom he married on January 10, 1954 and passed away in 2012 and his son Robert “Mike” Tryon who passed away in 2013.

He leaves two sons, Dave (Angie) Tryon and Tim (Tara) Tryon; grandchildren, April, Bridgette, Ally, Jason, David, Christopher, Timothy, Molly, Cameron and Chloe and a great granddaughter Aubrey.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00PM at The Billow Falls Memorial Chapel, 1907 23rd St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 with Pastor Joel Engman officiating.  Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Monday at the funeral home.
