Robert Wardell, 75, of Akron, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on November 3, 2012.
Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, Bob was a graduate of Miami University in Ohio and received his Master's degree from Baldwin Wallace. After a long career with East and West Ohio Gas, Bob retired to travel and spend time with the grandchildren he loved so much.
Bob is survived by daughters, Kristin Maxwell and Wendy Wardell; beloved grandchildren, Ryan Maxwell and Meredith Wardell; brothers, Bruce (Ginny), John (Jane), Walter (Patty), and sister, Jean. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., and memorial service on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Fairlawn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Bob's name be made to Akron General Development Foundation, Attn.: Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice, 400 Wabash Ave., Akron, 44307.
