Robert L. Wright, 84, died May 7, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born in Buckhannon, WV September 7, 1930 and had lived in the Akron area since 1968. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. After his service, he was employed as a research chemist for the Monsanto Co. at their Nitro, WV and Akron locations, where he retired in 1993 after 41 years. After retirement, he enjoyed teaching computer classes at several area senior retirement centers. He was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church and American Chemical Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Jeffrey (Meg) and grandson, Trevor all of Fairview Park, OH; cousin, Loren Brake of Delaware; several sisters and brothers in law.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road with Rev. Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Internment at Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. #260, Independence, OH 44131. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
