Ronald W. Springston, 78, died Aug. 3, 2008.
A life resident of Akron, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired security officer. He was a devoted family man, and loved his pets and the outdoors.
Preceded in death by wife, Mitsuko; he is survived by sons, Ronald Tracy Dougherty and Thomas Dora Eleo Springston; daughters, Terrie David Hofmann and Diane Jerry Sutphin; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Tambling; and brother, Ralph Springston.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333.
